While the core values of The Federation of Widford and Hunsdon JMI Schools have remained unchanged, the role of our Governing Body has evolved significantly over time. Our Governors play a crucial role in overseeing the effective operation of the school. They are entrusted with ensuring that the school meets its educational aims and standards, while also managing the financial planning and long-term investment in both staff and resources. The Governors hold ultimate responsibility for the ongoing development of the school’s infrastructure and the wellbeing of the entire school community, ensuring that the highest standards of education and care are maintained.
The Governing Body also has a key responsibility in ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, including the annual review of safeguarding and child protection arrangements. To fulfill this responsibility, our Governors dedicate considerable time, expertise, and insight into understanding the workings of the school. Through their support and guidance, they provide the leadership team with both challenge and encouragement, helping to stimulate continuous growth and development for the benefit of the students and the school as a whole.
